Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull has unveiled an exquisite 23-year-old single malt, meticulously finished in Gonzales Byass sherry casks after initial aging in refill hogsheads. Originally part of the celebrated Tobermory 15 Year Old release in 2008, this spirit has been granted additional years of maturation, allowing its superb flavour profile to further evolve. The aroma presents notes of caramelised dates and walnuts, complemented by nuances of orange, barley, blackcurrant jam, and brioche. On the palate, one experiences the delightful taste of Crunchie Bars, melted butter with a subtle salty tang, hints of rum cake, sultana, and fig. The finish lingers with soft vanilla tablet and milk chocolate.
