This 29-year-old single grain Scotch whisky, distilled at a now-defunct Glasgow distillery, is part of Whisky Works' initial releases. Bottled at cask strength, it boasts rich notes of vanilla, brown sugar, and lightly-toasted oak. The nose opens with aromas of strawberry cheesecake, tangy fruit salad, and a hint of candy floss, followed by crème brûlée, milky coffee, and vanilla buttercream, then ginger snaps and soft woody tannins. On the palate, ancient oak furniture and damp malt interplay with generous servings of melted toffee, subtly sharp green apple, and cooking chocolate, complemented by black cherries and marmalade for a tart sweetness. The finish offers a final touch of caramel and a hint of minerality.
