Angostura's 15 Year Old "1787" rum, launched in the latter half of 2016, presents a dark hue with a substantial flavour profile characterised by dried fruit, toasted oak, and robust spice. This distinguished Trinidadian rum is particularly suitable for sipping neat. The name commemorates the year the first sugar mill was established at the Lapeyrouse Estate. The aroma reveals notes of apricot pastries, rum-soaked sultanas, and a pronounced hint of cinnamon bark. On the palate, a softly charred oak smokiness is initially prominent, quickly mellowed by the richness of additional dried fruit. The aftertaste features honey, crunchy brown sugar, and a subtle suggestion of new leather.
