Douglas Laing has unveiled an exquisite limited edition bottling of Big Peat in honour of Fèis Ìle 2022. Named the Beach BBQ Edition, this blended malt Scotch whisky amalgamates a selection of whiskies sourced from distilleries across Islay, resulting in a suitably smoky flavour profile. Bottled at a robust 54.2% ABV, only 3,000 bottles were produced, each featuring the emblematic Big Peat depicted enjoying a traditional Scottish BBQ in the pouring rain. The whisky exudes an aroma of singed barley with a hint of meatiness, accompanied by honey roasted peanuts and salted lemons. On the palate, coastal peat takes centre stage, complemented by nuances of dark chocolate, salt and pepper crisps, and fresh leather. The finish is marked by notes of peppercorn, smoke, and charred cedar.
